Code 32...now what???

The check engine light on my '94 2+2 recently came on. I performed the ECU diagnostic check and came up with a code 32. I have read on the forums that this code indicates an issue with the EGR valve or EGR solenoid valve. However, I have not been able to locate any information detailing what to do to correct this problem. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Well the most obvious one is to replace the part. Replacing the EGR is not the easiest thing in the world. Me, I would bypass it, but thats me. Spongerider and the other guys might not believe the same though. Up to you. Check the FSM (The top sticky on the Z32 page) and see what it says.

Do the easiest/obvious clean the connection and add a little diegrease. I bet this will fix your problem. I have yet to see a EGR go bad on a Z32.

I will try the easiest fix first. Now my next question....I haven't done much work on this car since it never breaks, so be gentle. I think the EGR valve is at the back of the engine and is hard to access. Is there only one electrical connection going to the valve and where might this connection be located? Thanks for the responses.

Yes it's located in the back/center with a plug that you should be able to get to from the top of the engine. Look at the on line manual for location..

You can also check the connection in front of your battery. Make sure that is all happy as well. I think its the top one, not totally sure.

Also check the vaccum lines. The one that goes under the passanger side intake came off on me. So easy, but could be very hard to get to. You need to take a mirror and look from the back of the engine under the intake to see it. It had dry rotted and fell off.
