Front Brake Indicator Question

My front brakes indicators are squeaking loudly, even when the brakes are not applied at slow speeds. Can I make it another couple weeks without changing the pads if I feather it ? When the indicators start making noise, how long do you generally have before wearing down to the rotors? Im getting a new car the week of March 9, so I dont want to change the brakes on a car i'll only have another 2 weeks.

Hmm... let's think about this one?

Do I replace the brake pads knowing they are on their last leg or do I ignore the signs and crash my Z and cause large amounts of damage to your Z possible killing someone else cause of you lack of stupidness?

Brake pads $30-$120 or say F'it and pay the Piper later?

I don't know it's a hard one to choose?

Funny, I detect a hint of sarcasm, perhaps you don't understand what feather it means, or that my brakes feel fine, and I know they are worn, but I figure why waste my money when a dealership can do it for pennies in 2 weeks? Guess you didn't know the answer to my question as to how long they tend to last when the indicators start chirping?

There you go! You indeed are a smart man!

I must admit, I was a bit worried but just a little bit. :-)

The indicators generally start squealing when there's less than 3/32 of an inch of brake pad left, roughly 5%-10% depending on the pad maker. Just so you know, there's only about 16/32 of an inch in the first place.

Brake pads give poorer performance and heat up much more quickly when they are thin enough that the squeakers start making noise. Any sort of brisk driving will result in almost immediate and potentially very dangerous brake fade.So Sponge is correct as well.
