I just got new gauge faces for my z and i installed them a couple nights ago..as you probably know its simple to istall them its a direct replacement. So after i installed them i looked at my fuel gauge and it read full...but the problem is my tank is almost empty so idk what happened to it but it wont move off of full.

Wires hooked up correctly on the gauge? I should think the sending unit would have nothing to do with that, esp since you were in the gauge area moving stuff around...
