'93 300 zx convt top replacement ?

Hello,

I posted this in the general forum, just noticed that this is the forum for my '93

Anyway, can anyone advise me as to the difficulty of replacing my convertible top? Dealer won't do it (no tops) and from asking around, this seems to be a pretty difficult task. Is this a job for the upholstery shop or is this is do it yourself job? My tech skill is good, but I am no mechanic. many thanks, Jon

personally i would go to a really good upholstery shop , cause doing it yourself only leads to your Z not starting: )

naw really do some research ask around , talk to buddies.

I opted not to install the top myself, as from what I have learned, they're not easy to install. I went to an upholstery shop here locally and they have given me a price of $835 for a new Robbins top and install. Hope this helps anyone in the future.
