belt and it seems to have gotten better. I was having bad stumbling at low rpms. We re- installed the belt and replaced all of the seals and set it for 15 degrees, although it is much better it feels like it needs to be tweaked. Could I just move the cas a small amount at a time to fine tune it? How do you hook a light up to it? Thanks Jeff
Isn't your car an NA? I do not believe 15 degrees BTDC is correct for any year NAZ. Try 10 degrees BTDC. Better yet, get a Factory Service Manual (FSM) or use the online one on this site before you damage your engine. The FSM should describe in detail at least two procedures for timing. As I mentioned before, I do not know what model year the online FSM is for.
Also, as noted before by others here, do not adjust your CAS without a light. Z

If your Z is a 90-95 then 15 deg. Do not tweak the timing you have other issues if the car does not feel right. Do a ECU diagnostic and see what comes up?
Thanks sponge. 3 different guys have tried to pull codes. none. Have just completed the second timing belt job on this thing making sure it was done correctly. It is running better now but, is just not there yet and I am thinking because the guy told me he set it for 15 degrees. I think he got it from a turbo procedure. I am now finding it is more like 10 degrees. I am all ears. Thanks Jeff

Actually it's 13 btc on 90-95 NA and 10 btc on 95 NA.
Thanks, but I think we are both correct, you more so from what I found (15 +/- 2)
BTW, what year is the online FSM for? I'm fairly sure it would only marginally be problematic for some early 90's and more so for '96's (I'm guessing '92 but maybe '91 or '93)
Anyways, Big thanks for posting the FSM, Z
p.s. Might that need to read... 10 degrees for '96 NA?
