rear shocks question>

I hope i am doing this correct. I am on a new subject so I started a new thread is that ok? I badly need rear suspension it feels very bouncy and does not hold the ground on turns (nasty) and although i have never owned one of these I would assume it would be a lot more like a cat on a turn than what I am observing. What aftermarket ones do you suggest and will i need mounts? This car will be driven pretty nice by the way. No hot roddin for the old girl.(well maybe just a little) you know. Thanks jeff

As far as I can tell you are posting correctly. For rear, what you describe sounds like a blown shock. There are a many aftermarket options available. KYB AGX, Tokiko to name a couple that should be all inclusive. I suggest new springs as well, '90 right? Z

yes. 90 non 98K manual. What do you know about the mounts and gaskets? I should narrow it down a little. Is there a semi inexpensive replacement that is tried and true? And do the mounts usually go too? How much are tokico?

Now that's funny. I knew it didn't look right when I typed it...

Anyways, the Tokicos are OEM on mine. They were about $70.00 a piece two years ago. When I replaced them it made a big difference, when it was obvious something was wrong (high speed upper stack freeway turn) it was a bit unsettling. Mounts were not an issue for me and the gaskets were still in one piece. I have heard of squeaking when replaced without the gaskets. Z

If you have over 30K miles on your shocks push down on the rear side hatch. If the car bounces then the shocks need to be changed. In my experience if you lower your car be willing to invest money on your Z suspension. The OEM suspension does not allow for proper adjustment when the Z is lower .5" or lower. You will need to invest in adjustable tie rods A arms and rear A arms too $~1K.

You can do the lowering without the adjustable components but drivability will suffer as well as tire life. That being said, I would recommend Rs-r or Eibach for springs and KYB adjustable shocks.

Tokico huh? Dealer item? Thank you for the reply Z. Another guy told me this was a good way to go also. I have called a dealer and they were 130.00 ea. I was wondering if you can get them for cheaper somewhere else. I was going to go with a monroe sensatrac for 64.00, but if I could tokico I would. And an added thanks for the gasket detail, i have also heard that to be true. Thanks
