maf #'s and egr question

Ok, I have been at the dealer all day today and they can't find the problem of my stumbling at low rpms also. Could someone tell me if the egr is supposed to be on at idle? Because it is. Second question is the maf is reading 1.27 at idle and max out at 3.45 high rpm. Those #'s seemed too high at the low end and too low at the high end. ???? They are blaming it on the timing at the dealer and my mechanic is positive the lines were lined up and the timing is not an issue. Is there an adjustment you can make ? Nobody can hook up a timing light for some reason, even the dealer. Is this right? They are also blaming it partially on the plugs I put in(3rd set) not platinum. Problem? I have spent 300.00 on diagnostics without a diagnosis. It is a very nice condition car 98K no rust but I might have to dump it. (don't want to) This guy at the dealership claims he is the nissan god. Thanks for the help guys. Jeff

Yes.

MAF should read .8-1.5v at idle.

Yes, use a timing light, and trun the CAS.

Nobody can hook up a timing light for some reason, even the dealer. Is this right?

No, hook up the inductor to #1 plug wire and you're good to go.

Problem?

Yes! What is the plug brand and part # used?

I'm sorry but where do you live?
