I assume 2+2 is not a turbo converted, just a v6. What year is a Z28? 93 to 97 are an LT1 based model and 98-02 is LS1. If it’s one of these years, you would need a healthy shot of juice. Preferably a direct port. In addition, a good set of tiers and a hard clutch. Driveshaft that can handle a launch like that. Another wards, you need allot.
If it’s an older Camaro, it depends on the condition of the car. Most of the older, 350 suck ass stock, but throw a big carb, pair of headers and a set of heads and it’s not to be f..ed with.
Try to race a guy on the autocross or just a nice twisty road. Z will out handle it on the turns and it will catch up to it on straights. If you can use better handling of the Z to compensate fore more powerful motor of Z28, you could win.

its older like a 94. yha, so i should use the advantages of the Z to beat the camaro?

94 are an lt1-based car. LT1 stock produces 290hp 280tq. It’s a very balanced and torque motor. Same car as my 93 firebird except for an upgraded vented Optispark distributor and different sensor setup. This car weight 3400 and has a solid axel on the back as well as all f-bodies. On the straight line, it murders most of the stock streetcars. With minor modifications, it could be made much much faster. Stock it runs a low 14 pass in the quarter. I doubt very much that the guy you going to race against kept it stock. Any minor mods like even a K@N air filter will open up that motor. On the straight line, you don’t stand a chance. Trust me, I had both cars (recently sold my bird).
F-bodies however, handle far from perfect. Due to a bad balance (heavy nose and light rear end) car is very prone to a spin out and then you loose an ass on f-body, it’s very hard to get it back. Cornering is not great either. In short, it’s a straight-line performer. I mean look, then that v8 roars at 5000rpms car goes from 50mph to 90 as if it’s nothing.
300zx on the other hand is a well-balanced car. It’s not quite as powerful as LT1 but handles way better.
Therefore, he has a 100hp and a 100tq on you but you have the car that can swing in to the corner at twice the speed. You would have even chances on the twisty road or and autocross track. LT1 also is a v8; it doesn’t recover quite as fast after gear changes as a vg30de. So, a course with a lot of downshifting and up shifting would be to your advantage.
Remember, all depends on the driver.
