To my understanding, it’s not really a scientific term. I would say, at stage 1, you have a close to a stock level with slight upgrade, and stage 3 should be close to race only intentions. Then they talk about turbo and stage 3, it probably involves capability in the pressure that it can create and volume of air. Basically a size of the turbo. Surely, you can’t stick a huge turbo and run 30 psi on a stock motor unless it’s a stage 3 ……. Motor.
Forget stages. Whoever thought of the 'stage' scale is a pinhead. Go by what the dyno tell you the horsepower is. It's just as easy to list the mods, as opposed to what 'stage' you are...
Well instead of me listing all my mods.. it is alot easier to use the stages.. I am a stage VIII according to the TT.net system, which is the normal system... to get to stage VIII I did alot of mods that I dont feel like typing all of....

Instead, just tell people how much HP you're putting on the ground. Anyone who's not familiar with the Z's goofy 'stage' scale wont get anything from stages anyway.
