detailling???

i was going to get my engine detailed but i thoungt i should ask here first for imput. the place i am going to take it will steam clean the engine. is this going to cause me any problems??? or will it be safe??? need any and all comments. expecially if you have had this done to your car as well thanks for the help everybody.

Not knowing what their procedure is , I can't say what sort of problems you may have. I'm assuming they'll do an adequate job of protecting the wiring and etc. And any problems you have afterwards should be taken care of by them anyway.

its safe man , and just like he said its on them anyway if they mess up your car. i did mine myself i used engine degreaser, its easy

thanks for your imput guys.... also is there anyone who has had there engine steamed cleaned before??? i ask due to the fact that i am wondering how good of a job it will do...

it will clean the block verey good but if you have oil on the intake and heads it will clean most of it off and leave a black residue that can be brushed off easly. All you need to do is protect the distributer and alternator from the water.
