What can I eliminate?

Why after lots of searching, and lost of reading the FSM, I would like to hear some actual first hand experiance.

My 85 300zx Turbo is a lemons racer... it is not and will never be street legal again. I would like to take off everything that is not absolutely necessary for the car to run. (i.e. egr valve)

All these vacuum lines running all over the place (I obviously need the vacuum lines for the waste gate..), cooling hoses.. etc..

Is there anything that is a definate no no that I can't correct easily by adding a manual fuel pressure regulator and setting it rich?

I should mention, that this engine is in excellent shape as far as pistons, rings, rods, bearing, heads and turbo go. Going to add an intercooler to help keep temps down. Boost will be limited to about 10 psi.

Trail and error is working pretty good, thanks for the responses.

EGR and vacuum control for it are gone. Rad great without the idle control hooked up, but gues what? it wouldn't idle when cold, so I put it back on.

Car runs great, very slightly rich, which I would think would be ok for racing in 100+ heat at buttonwillow next month.

I do have a pretty harsh "turbo bark" now though at deceleration. Gotta figure that one out. Someone spread the word to let me in over at Z31.com! hehe
