86-300ZX

Hey all! I just recently bought a 86 300zx, The stock deck did not work. All the lights lit up and it acted like it worked but no sound came out. I then went to best buy and bought a new cdplayer and the stock wiring harness got it all wired right but I am still not getting any sound?? Dose the stock amp under the passanger seat have anything to do with it? I had the stock EQ under the stock tape deck. I unhooked the amp wires.

I always checked the wire in the speakers and they are all hooked up.
