87-89 models
isnt the body on a 84-84 the same as an 86?
could i just buy body styiling for my 86 that says its for the 84-85?[/b]

I think 86 was kind of a transfer year, shares body parts between the 87-88s and the 84-85s. In 86 I beleive the hood scoop was dropped on the turbo cars and the one piece front airdam. I think the wing was different too, not sure about that. The updated rear valance came in 87. If you want, you can look here ZBUM's New Nissan Z31 300ZX Homepage

thanks i wanted a 84 hood for my car just cause i liked that scoop on it thats why i asked

I forget if 86 is when the integral fog lights disappeared. If it is, putting the 84-85 hood on will create a 3 inch gap on each side of where the little front extension part of the hood is. The good news is you can simply adapt the scoop to your own stock hood, if you don't mind drilling holes in it. The scoop was essentially non functional, which is why it was dropped.
