burning = not good. Help anyone?
okay heres what happened, i didnt drive the car for about 2 days, i came home from work the other day, got it to try and drive it around (wierd too because it never gave me any problems) and all i hear is click click click click, a very fast clicking sound, so i figure, hmm the battery somehow got drained (put a new battery in there like a month ago). I pull up another car (98' mitsu galant) hook up the jumper cables, and get in the galant (no one is in the z, its just the jumper cables hooked up) give the galant some gas and i see smoke coming out of the engine compartment of the z, i shut the car off and dissconected the jumper cables, what was going up in smoke was the fusable links box next to the battery (which now smells burnt too) also i noticed something i never have before, the positive terminal of the battery cable is cracked, but that apparently has always been there and the car has started fine. So now, the car doesnt start at all, i hear one click of the starter when i turn the key to start it, the headlights come on but dont flip up, no interior lights, no ding with the door open, no dash lights. also i put a brand new battery in there just in case. I guess the fusible links is the first thing i gotta replace? any idea where to get new ones? what else could have gone wrong? any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again guys.
