clicking/clack shift lever
i have a 2003 automatic xtrail 250x 4wd
i've been reading about this problem and it appears it's prevalent with other new nissan models, but i havent read anything about it with the xtrail.
mine does that clicking sound when you press on the brake to start the vehicle, but it does something else.
when you press that button on the lever to move it, the lever makes this clacking sound. i can move the lever down through the other modes without a problem and the sound isn't there when i bring it back to park.
im guessing it's the shift lock mechanism.
the other problem with it is that the handbrake needs to be pulled way up (7 clicks, i think) so could that be contributing to it somehow?
