Is the Fat Face one different from the standard one? Any pics of the Fat Face, not sure I've ever seen one?

Dealers' parts dept or breakers I'd guess but may not come ready painted from parts dept.

How did the Fat Face differ from the Sport?

If you buy a grill new I think you'll need to have it painted. If you can't find one at a breaker's, cheapest option might be to buy one for a T-spec or Aventura which are chromed.

PS. I assumed you wanted to replace a damaged one but notice that some Fat Face have chromed grills. If you want a chrome one black, get it painted.

Flynn,

The pics you have posted is of a MakeI xtrail which has a different type of grill (larger in size) and it is not suited for the MK II xtrail Ed is looking for.

I think the only difference between the Fat Face and the Sport is the larger alloys (17") and Sat Nav...not to mention the Fat Face sticker!

Mine already has the chrome MK II (smaller) version, I just prefer black.

Thanks guys,

Ed.

Jalal, the photo is from a dealer's ad that he decribes as a "2006 06 Reg NISSAN X-Trail 2.2 dci 136 Fat Face 5dr sve" . Which was why I was asking what the spec for the Fat Face model was. The Fat Face was a special edition that was only offered for a short time and not many sold afaik.

Another one described as "2005 55 Reg NISSAN X-Trail 2.2 dCi 136 Sport FAT FACE SPECIAL EDITION"

The Sport and SVE had different trim levels, the SVE had leather seats for a start. The second one has the spoiler.

Both must be fresh in because they're wet and we had the first rain for months this week.

That's strange because all the cars offered as Fat Face I could find, apart from the top one, have painted grills. I think a trip to the coach works is the answer. Or maybe a swap with someone who wanted a chrome one.

There are many xtrailers who would prefer the chrome MKII grill over their current painted one, so I guess you can use the "classifieds" section of this forum and offer a swap.

Flynn: Fatface and MKII are exactly the same shape xtrail. The fatface just had extra features thrown-in (larger alloys, sat.nav and something else which I can't remember now) apart from that the external shape (including the front grill) is the same.

If the dealer was advertising that black exy as 2006 model, then they have no idea what they're selling because it is a MKI LOL

I think he may be a very confused dealer because he's also describing it as a "2006... Fat Face 5dr sve". The SVE was the model above the Sport in price with leather electric seats etc. Maybe one end is a Fat Face and the other something else. Known as a 'cut and shut' job around these parts.

Agreed, the Fat Face is def not the SVE...like the "cut and shut" theory though.

Mine is the Aventura with the chrome grill, but for some reason I much prefer plain black. Like you say, paint job or a swapsy.

Would think all-black would would look good.

That dealer's got a few unusual offers, including what the say are two 2006 SVEs both unregistered, or "un registard" as they put it. I thought they went out December 2005. Wonder where they've been lurking all this time? Northern 4x4 Centre.

Wow, collectors' items. Wonder if they're knocking them up out the back from a box of bits.
