Had the following small irritation: The substantial gap between the (passenger) seat backrest & squab allows flat items or documents to fall through. I successfully fixed this by lodging a length of foamed rubber insulation “tube” into the gap. I’m referring to that black stuff they use to insulate air conditioner piping. Used a piece with an OD of about 30mm. The trick is to push it in just far enough not to be seen easily, but not that far that it goes right through.
Just thought somebody else might also like to try this out.
Cheers
It's like foam insulation that you would put around the cold water pipes in your basement to prevent them from freezing.
Usually grey or black color - comes in like 3 foot lengths - can be cut with a pair of scissors.
You'll find them at Can Tire or any Building supply dealer - only cost about 60 cents per length - they may also come in longer lengths.
They work great for this purpose and if you get the grey color they're hardly noticible...

When I said that I don't know what you are talking about, I meant about "the substantial gap between the (passenger) seat backrest & squab allows flat items or documents to fall through." The material is fine, I understood which one he was referring to but not about the gap. That's why I asked for some pictures.

My apologies - obviously I mis-understood your question. Me=
Next time you're sitting in your X-T, slide your hand behind your behind and you will feel the gap - you can actually push your hand thru there.
For anyone interested, here's another use for the pipe insulation stuff:
If you have a wireless mouse (optical) / keyboard attached to your computer, then you also have an InfraRed sensor that is hard wired to your CPU (perhaps via a USB connection).
If your set up is anything like mine, then you probably have a jungle of wires behind your computer and the IR sensor is one of them and it's probably laying next to some of the other wires.
These IR sensor wires are sensitive to interference from other electrical charges. I used the insulation stuff to wrap this wire to prevent that - mouse and keyboard have worked flawlessly ever since.
While I was behind there, I also wrapped the other wires in 2 more sleeves - cleaned up the maze of wires quite nicely.

Thx Roger, now I know what you meant by The Gap. Already put a piece of foam as well. One question so, does anyone has come up with an idea about what to do with the cup holder? It seems to be useless, it's a small detail BUT very, very BAD one. I kind of hate it when I look at it. Not sure what Mr. Toi San (Nissan Canada : Rencontrez l’homme derrière le X-Trail) was thinking about it when designed it, he definitely haven't been anywhere in Canada.
The guys in Japan use small size cups that fit perfectly in the cup holders, but you guys in Canada seem to use the super king size for your coffee mugs and we have seen photos of them in this forum LOL With such a huge doze of coffee, I'll be walking on my arms with feet up in the air all day. hahahaha

Bought some coffee holders that append to the vents. Currently using the original cup holder as coin holders, bought them at WalMart as well and fit nicely. I am still thinking on what to do with the middle console, it' so annoying, good for nothing.
