New X-Trailer in Cape Breton!

Hi guys and gals,

I traded in my 04 Golf TDI for an 05 X-Trail SE. I loved the Golf but my wife now has an 05 Jetta TDI, so we agreed I could get a SUV. After a lot of research into the X-Trail, X-Terra, CR-V, Element and Rav4 I decided on the X-Trail. After 2000km I have no regrets!

I ended up getting a slightly used one with only 10 000km. It's sunlit sand. I only have one problem with it so far. The alarm LED doesn't work. It is supposed to light up when the alarm is on right? I haven't really looked into it much but is there a fuse for it?

Anyway I look forward to learning more about the X-Trail on this board and chatting with everyone. If you know any other good sites that aren't on the Hot Links please let me know. Thanks!

Evan

Welcome

Hi Evan!

Let me be the first to welcome you the best X-Trail Site (Outside of Australia.. LOL) on the Internet. First to answer your question, yes it should flash when activated.. go and see your dealer...

You will learn to love this site and well you have many nights of reading ahead of you. The members of the X-Trail section are worldwide and will provide to you information that you will never get anywhere else.

I have made many friends here and you will as well.. enjoy your time here and please do not be afraid to ask any questions... if it has already been answered... our resident teacher/principal/CEO Mr. Valboo will set you in the proper direction.... by the way... we have other words that describe him...but that's for a later time..

Take care,

Stephen

Evan,

The alarm light problem is likely as simple as the fuse, I.E. it's probably missing altogether. Have a look in your armrest cubby. The fuse might be rattling around in there. Mine was but I picked x-t up new.
Apparantly this is something that is removed but supposed to be re-installed by the dealer when they do the PDI. I've heard of a few cases besides my own where it wasn't put back in.
