I have the T-Spec 2.2dCi. I held out to get a good deal and it cost me 23,300 GBP (with a couple of extras, extra roof carriers and the eyebrows). That's basically the whole options list. All the hyper roof leather fog traction control you need! (list price is a shade off 25k)
I challenge any of you to go to your Nissan site, 'build' a car, then convert your all-in price into GBPounds and try to get it near to the cost in the UK.
Almost makes me want to emigrate...

Sulphur man:
Like everything in life - it's all "relative".
With regard to car prices, the market place usually sets the parameters.
While your price of 23,300 GBP is quite high by Canadian standards, the same vehicle in / on another Country / Continent may be similar or lower (Asia comes to mind)..........
But, for what it's worth, I'll play the game from the Canadian side of the pond and give some some facts and figures - as follows:
At today's exchange rate (1 GBP = 2.06827 Cdn.), your 23,300 GBP translates into $48, 190 Cdn. - quite a chunk of change for an '05 X-T.
The current (MSRP) pricing for an '06 X-T LE (top of the line) with AWD, Auto tranny, Sat Nav system & VDC is $37,098 Cdn. - to which one has to add $1269 for shipping and PDI - for a total of $38,367 Cdn. This translates into 18,551 GBP, far short of your 23,300....
The second in the line up in Canada is the SE model. With AWD, Auto tranny, Sat Nav, and the Adventure Package, the MSRP is $34,698 Cdn. plus shipping & PDI of $1269, for a total of $35,967. This translates into a measly 17,390 GBP - which is a REAL chunk of change short of your 23,300 GBP.
Perhaps some of our other "global" members would care to elaborate on pricing in their areas, just for comparison purposes
BTW, in my 33 years working for the Gov't of Canada (mostly with the Dept. of Citizenship & Immigration) I have never seen an application for emigration that gave the "reason" as the high price of vehicles

Good luck with it.
