A few questions about my 95 Altima

I'm new to the forums here, so forgive me for any ignorance I may pose.

I'm also a first-time Nissan owner, and I've got a situation and some questions to go along with it.

It's a 1995 Altima. It's got the KA24DE engine or course, but it's blown. I got it free because of that. I've been doing a little bit of research, and talking to a few people. I've been told by many people that a good idea would be to try and swap in an SR20DE motor from a 200SX or a G20. I've been told it will fit just fine that way. Is that true? Will I have to make any custom mods for it to mount up right? I know, it seems awful, not trusting my own friends' words. But I thought if there's one place to go for accurate answers, it's here.

Also, on a lighter note, the car's interior is awful. I've been told by the same people that some newer gen Altima's interior will bolt in. I found somebody with a 2001 Altima with seats, will those fit my '95? The carpet I've already replaced. Just need the seats. I've got all the trim and plastics.

My intentions are to build this car up into something nice. I'm learning every day, as I haven't had the car long. I know it's got potential, and I want to get the best for it. I can spend the money on either another KA24 or I can go for the SE-R SR20 motor, if it really fits right.

Thank you everyone for any and all help!

Re

I Know someone that swapped a motor from a 01 Altima to his 93 Altima.
It is possible, but Im almost sure you gotta make some adjustments, like on the switches/connections.
When it comes to the interior the front seats from the 01 altima are sometimes electric and the ones from the 95 are manual. I know the rear ones are different because the part were you pust youre back against comes out like in 4 different parts.

If you can try to put em on before buying them.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not as concerned with the interior yet. I want it running first of all. I will try to fit things in at some point though.

I've done a lot of searching on this site with different keywords, and have gotten mixed results on the SR20 swap. The most common response I seem to find is "stick with your KA24, the SR20 swap is too expensive." The thing is, though, my KA24 is blown. I'm not thinking of a swap just for fun. I'm considering all possibilities. I've found 3 people selling SR20's with the transmissions and computers for cheaper than what I've found for the KA. I'm spending hundreds regardless which motor I choose. What I want to know is what extra parts or pieces will I need for the SR swap? Is there any custom fab work that will need to be done? Please, somebody just tell me what all I will need and what I'll need to do for the swap.
