Question Short Air intake

I got a cheap short air intake off ebay and this will sound pathetic but how the heck do i put this in with the air temp sesnor mounted to the air old box?

I believe you have to drill a mounting hole, though I never did this

Nice i guess ill do that but does it matter where it mounts? should it be near the Throttle body or closer to the filter?

I have come to the conclusion that i should mount the temp sensor just after the Mass air flow sensor because if its too far down (i.e. past the vac hose) is could accumulate oil and ruin the sensor.

This is all just a guess so dont call me dumb if im wrong. :P

you'll gain more power from having it as close to the air filter as possible. The engine will think its getting colder air so it'll compensate. Just a warning you will most likely loose a little gas economy but it will be very very minor. But you will gain the power you want. I've heard a few people tucking it right in the rubber of the air filter. Just don't use anything to adhere onto the inside of the pipe because if the tape or whatever gets sucked in its going right into the engine.

I ended up drilling three little holes in the top of the filter and mounted the sensor there. After struggling for 10-20 min i just used the stock parts to the mass then the adapter plate then the filter.

from what alot of people told me that if ur running a n/a engien then a short air would be better but i could be mistaken im still learning about it all so...
