I have had my Altima for 10+ years and have yet to change the struts. My question is: should I change the struts? Also, what else should I replace? I want my car to have that tight ride it had when I first bought it. Not sure if this is possible. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Shocks/Struts don't last that long...You have just gotten used to a increasingly bad ride. Put some new struts on and you will really have that new car ride....Strut caps will rattle when they go bad, but since it is 10 years..check them close to save doing it later.

I just purchased and installed a set of KYB GR2 struts and mounts for my 97 GXE. Combine that with a 4-wheel alignment and a high-speed spin balance and you will amazed at the results. Should be about $400 for the parts.
