I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with 93,000 miles on it.

When I start up the vehicle after it has been stopped for awhile, the oil pressure light flickers.

If I have been driving the car and then I stop it and start it again, the light does not flicker.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I was wondering if it's the oil pump going bad or the oil pressure sending unit.

Has anyone ever had this issue with the Pathfinder?

Light may flicker at start up until oil pressure increases. Have you checked your oil? They sometimes flicker at start up if the oil is a quart or more down/low. If it's not low, I don't think ther's anything too worry about.

Thanks for the response.

I did check the oil level and the oil is not low.

The light only flickers sometimes so I'm not going to be too concerned about it.
