That's most likely your speed sensor going out on you. It's on top of the transmission and screws in.

I had most of my gauge cluster go out on me a couple years ago.

Kept blowing the fuse for that bunch of instruments/fan/backup lights, etc. Spent a couple weeks tracing wiring, checking for shorts, continuing to blow fuses, etc.

Finally noticed on wiring diagram where wiring went into a junction, a different colored wire came out. Was something like white wire w/ black stripe (don't remember exactly). A green wire w/ blue stripe also came out of the junction as part of that circuit. Not certain about that color either, but doesn't really matter, look up wiring diagrams for exact color coding.

Anyway, this new wire went to the switch to detect when in 4wd. Attached up on side of tranny. Would light the indicator on the dash. This connector was gunked up with road grime and evidently started shorting out. A good cleaning and reseating the rubber boot over the connector cleared up the short and have not had problem come back.
