I have a Nissan '95 4x4 2.4L standard transmission. I have compared mine to 7 other nissans and mine is faster than all of them. Where is all my power at? It's there but I can't find it. The guy that I bought it from said that he has done some modification to the engine. He was a mechanic and he was the only owner also. Do you know where's my power? I have a 6 inch lift kit and 33 12.50's.

headers?
intake?
exhaust?
chip?
chevy v-8 swap?
supercharger?
turbo?
why don't you ask the guy you bought it from?
I can't imagine the standard 4 cyl . pushing 33's is terribly fast on an untouched engine. I had a 94, and believe me, it was no speed demon stock. Fast enough, but not notiveably faster then any other Nissan truck.
I've heard this done before, but there is no way a SBC can bolt up to a Nissan transmission, is there???
to be honest, i'm relatively mechanically ignorant, so I don't know the possibilities or headaches involved. But, I have seen it done on a local Hardbody-- but I don't know whether he used any stock Nissan internals or tranny parts!
seems Toyotas and Jeeps are more common with engine swaps.
Someone could have swapped the gears from an auto-tranny equipped HB into yours. The autos have 4.6 gears, the manuals have 4.3 gears.

'88 Pathfinder: 6" of lift, 33x13.50 Swamper LTB's, Rancho 9000's, L&P Stage 3 steering system, K&N, Pacesetter headers and 2.5" exhaust, Lock-Right locker, 110A alty and electric fan swap, dual batteries, 700W+ worth of PIAAs, etc.
Gears for Nissan trucks are off-the-wall expensive. Like, $500 per axle.

Well that's not horrible considering Gears for my mustang were about $280, and it's one of the single most effective modifications to improve acceleration (provided you select the right ratio).
Hey, I have a 95 Nissan 4x4 pickup with a 2.4L engine with 33 12.50 tires and a 4 inch lift lit and a 2 inch body lift lit. I have raced other nissans of all sizes and I have won every time. Why? Is it because I know how to shift right or is it that I have so much power? It's not suped up or anything like that. It is extremely well kept but besides that, I cant figure out why it has so much power? The only thing I have done to it is had the timing chain right, all new wires and hoses, K&N air filter, and a flowmaster. A little bit larger cam but not enough to beat another nissans as bad as I do. Especially that are the same type truck with smaller tires and newer than mine. I dont understand. Can anyone help me out here?
Like said, talk to the previous owner. Might not be a Nissan axle, who knows.
The Nissan R+P sets are among the most expensive in the 4X4 world (except for racing stuff). You can get some Dana 60 R+P sets for as low as $150, and most all axles for under $250. The Dana 60 is a large 1 ton ring and pinion set. When I regeared my Jeep I got 2 rp sets, 2 overhaul kits, and 2 new carriers for under $625 shipped to my door. Nissan would be over X2 that amount.
2 yrs later, and you're still wondering about what's been done to your engine?
Put it on a dyno.
Take it to a mechanic and have him take a look.
Or just enjoy what is apparently a built on a Tuesday, all Nismo parts, facroty race tuned, standard truck.
