Roof Rack cross bars

Has anyone installed cross bars on a Murano? I got a set from the dealer but the bolts only seem to want to go in about one quarter. The dealer was no help since they haven't installed any. I don't want to strip the threads but I don't know if they simply go in very hard. Anyone had the same experience who knows "the secret?"

Make sure you have everythng in the right place, Left/right Front/back. It should be marked. When I installed the cross bars to my Quest, I almost switched the left/right on the front bar and I almost cross threaded the bolt. After I switched it around the bolds went in just fine.

Just an idea. But becarefull not to cross thread the bolts.

Roof Rack Crossover bars

I did not take the time to install the bars after I found out that you could no longer purchase a luggage carrier that would fit the Murano Cross bars. I contacted several dealerships in Canada adn U.S. and none of them were able to assist. It came down to that only the accessories listed on the Nissan website for the Murano would fit the crossbars. If you try to purchase equipment from other companies, they will not fit because of the curature of the bars. That is what I was told from the service desk at Universal Nissan in Orlando, Fl.
Good luck with your installation......
