I am going to be changing the front brake pads on my family's 95 nissan quest, However , I was unable to remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper to the caliper carrier. These 2 bolts have a rubber sleeve and I do not know what bolts these are and what specialty tool i need to remove them.
If someone knows about what I am talking about or have had experience with this please shed some light.
Should be the slide pins, they're standard 12mm as far as I know.

Thats what I had thought too because I've done brake pads on altimas and maximas and they are 12mm bolts as well. These bolts have a rubber shroud around them that cannot be removed.
Changed these many times they use a torx socket #4, special item but can be found at Sears/Harbor Freight/or any auto parts store

It's T-40 or T-45, I do not remember for sure cause I have many T's.

I had the same problem too!! on my 1993 nissan Quest
I found the torx bit and was able to remove both Torx bolts, but after removing the two bolts I still can't get the brake calipers to come off!
Can someone shed some light on how to get them off so I can replace the pads?
On most aftermarket repair manuals, they DO show it having two 12mm bolts that holds the caliper. It also instructs you to remove the pads like on a Maxima, take off the top bolt and loosen the bottom bold and the caliper should flip down. This is not the case on my 1993 Quest. Please help?
