'86 Nissan Pickup Sputters in high range

Just bought a little '86 Nissan pickup that runs great most of the time, but I notice tonight in high gear, going along pretty good, it started to sputter going up a hill. I dropped it down to 4th gear and wrapped it up and it sputtered some more. Doesn't slow you down too bad but it concerns me a bit. The previous owners were telling me it did that and they think it is condensation in the gas and said to use Heet in the gas. What do you think? It runs very stong otherwise, just when I'm going about 70-75MPH and hit a little hill. Also I should mention it was about 30 degrees tonight when this happened. Any help greatly appreciated.

Try changing your fuel filter first, after that give it a full tune-up and see what happens. There's so many things that can go wrong on these things, you have to eliminate the easy stuff first and then narrow it down to find out what it is.
