I posted earlier about a bad experience with oxy sensors on my 2001 Pathfinder. The bill included "reprogramming of the ECM." I found several posts here about the same issue. I only got charged $42 for reprogramming, but some complained of much higher bills.

I complained about this via snail-mail to Nissan customer service. Last week I received a phone call from "Juan" at 1-800-nissan1. He said the ECM is covered under a mandatory Federal warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles and I should not have been charged. I gave this information to the dealer and he agreed to make a refund, but he said that the "new" ECM warranty just went into effect Jan 1, 2005. (My repair was last October).

For what it's worth... maybe you can get a refund too if your ECM was reprogrammed.
