2005 Pathy Oil Change

My new pathy got its 1000 miles now... I'm planning to get rid of nasty break-in oil this weekend.
I'm plan to get Mobile1 synthetic oil, and i also plan to changed out the filter.
Is there any specific brand of filter that I should use?
Historically, I have been using STP on my other cars; I used Bosch once.
Synthetic should be ok with the new pathy right?

Owner manual claims that Nissan used "high quality" oil filter. It says it is not necessary to change out the filter yet. I have very high doubt about that.

Any suggestions? thanks

You should get your first oil change FREE from your dealership.

They told me my '04s 4-cyl (just purchased it) didn't have "break in" oil and the first change is 3750 miles. If you still want to change it, I think I'd give it another 1000 miles or two with conventional oil just to let everything mate properly.

I think I'm going to stick with the Nissan filters for mine. I've heard they're good filters and they shouldn't be able to complain, warranty-wise, if I have any engine problems.

I always change the filter with the oil; it just seems silly not to.

Just my $0.02

I got free unlimited oil changes until I sell my Pathy from the dealer. Although, I'm 23 and this is my 5th car so...I am not sure how long I will keep it.

Don't buy Fram filters as they are crap. Purolators are pretty good. I did some research on the net and found bad things about Fram.

I got OEM filter from Courtesy Parts
I'm very fortunate to have them down the street. They still honor internet price, which is 50% off. I got 10 for 50 bucks.. retail is 90 bucks for 10.

Anyways, part # for OEM filter is 15208-9E000

OEM is still the best....
