iPod in your Murano?

Aside from my Murano, my favorite toy is my 20 gig 4g iPod. The sound absolutely kicks ass through the Bose stereo. Currently using a Monster cassette adapter to hook into the stereo, but I'm hoping Nissan will come out with a direct adapter at some point so the iPod can be controlled through the steering wheel.

Just wondering who else out there is using an iPod and how are you hooking into the car?

It's basically a hard drive that store's all your music (CDs) in digital format. I've got about 1300 songs on mine, so theoretically I could play it for 3 or 4 days straight and never hear the same song twice.

It has a headphone port for listening to the music, but in the car I use an adapter that plugs into the cassette deck so it plays through the Murano speakers.

Much better than any radio because I never hear a song I don't like and I never have to listen to commercials.

I understand, but my friend has one, he brings it in my car and tunes my radio to a certain station and all his songs play through my radio, wireless. He does this at my house too on my home stereo.

ITrip, that is what my son uses in my Quest. It is an FM modulator. Pick an emty FM station and play it through That frequency. Actually, my sons Itrip can take over a station that comes in clearly.

I've tried iTrip too, it works great if you don't live in a big city. Still, you can't beat the sound quality of a direct connection, so that's why I go through the cassette adapter.

the problem with either of those it is truly isnt direct...the tape adapter is only going to give you tape quality... i love my direct port in in the elemant, the new sentras have a direct in line too... just a matter of time b4 every other car does... i really would like ipod controllers on the steering wheel...

No doubt. Nissan announced back in January that they will be integrating an iPod connector into 05-06 cars. I'll be very interested to see if they provide a way to retrofit that into earlier models. It would be sweet to run my iPod from the steering wheel and see the song/artist info show up on the in-car display.

its going to be a direct line in, like my element, like the sentras... you arent going to be able to have steering wheel controls... thtat really sucks too, sounds like it would be a killer idea...

Has anyone seen this site?

I would really be interested in this too. I am about to pick up an 06 Murano and I love the direct connection I have in my BMW, steering wheel controls and all.
