2001 Pathfinder LE Alarm Siren Location

Suddenly, my alarm does not chirp (the high pitch tweet) when arming/disarming. The doors still lock and unlock along with the flash for the light-markers. Opening the door while armed sets the horn off. I assume the siren is bad/broken.

Question: Where is the alarm siren located? I did a cursory check and I can't seem to find it under the hood.

Thanks,

Rich

It may be hidden right behind one of your headlights. Took me a while to find it on my 95 PF. I don't have the stock immobilizer.

2001 Pathfinders use the horn as their siren. 95 was the last year that Nissan used a siren for the factory alarm. If your alarm system is NOT factory original, then you probably have a siren. The horns are located in front of the radiator, and there are two of them on the 2001. Check your fuses under the hood on the drivers side, there is one marked as anti-theft horn.

Good Luck.

The alarm is factory.

The horn still works but during the arm/disarm there used to be a small chirp. The chirp is now gone? I assumed they had a siren or something to produce teh chirp either inside or outside the system.

You may have accidently pressed both the lock and unlock buttons for 2 seconds simultaneously. It sounds unlikely, but it could happen if you jam your keys in your pocket with lots of other stuff. That would turn the chirp off. Try pressing the two buttons simultaneously for two seconds and see if the chirp comes back.

Joe.

Worked

"Two button Press" worked.

Thanks!

I should have just read the instructions printed on the back of the remote in itsy-bitsy black type.
