My 93 King Cab is still in very good shape. I recently had to have the transmission overhauled and a new radiator installed, but all in all it still looks and drives very good. My concern is that the dash is falling apart. Three of the climate control registers have fallen out. I routinely find loose screws in the floor that came from somewhere in the dash. Anyone else having this problem?
I have a 86.5 pu and yes the dash vents are brittle, I have new ones I just havent gotten around to putting them in yet. I havent found any screws on the floor yet
ive got a 1992 pathy and that happened to me too but my dash also squeeks alot, like some bolts have come loose im too afraid to do it myself cuz i dont wanna screw anything up
Look at the positive; your wheels haven't fallen off and the dash screws don't get lost. There are few makes out there that don't drop trim screws on the carpet over time.
I'll replace my vents. I suppose the only place to get them is from the dealer, unless someone else knows someone that makes them.
Why not go to a wrecker? The dealer is going to charge you a fortune. I've done enough messing around in our dashboard to know that you can tighten up a lot of stuff without risking damaging anything.
