A/C switch & headlights

I have a 93 nissan d21 4x4 and I have a problem with my a/c. The problem is that when I turn my a/c on it works fine but as soon as I turn on my parking/headlights the a/c turns off and when you turn the parking/headlights
switch off the a/c comes back on. It is not a stock a/c system so i was
wondering if they could have wired it into the headlight relay and made it
turn off when your parking/headlight switch is turned on without them
knowing it.

Any help would be greatly aprecciated because I live where it gets hot during the summer even during the night and I don't really want to drive with my windows down all the time in the middle of the night.

That's really wierd. It shouldn't do that. I can't think of anything that would be beneficial in such a case.
