new O2 sensor and worse gas mileage?

Hey ladies and gents, got a question. Gas mileage had been slowly declining and I knew O2 needed replacing on my 94 hb 2wd. I replaced it and the truck runs much better, really gets up and goes now more so than before. My question is did I do something wrong, am I missing another component that may be altering gas mileage? Any help is greatly appreciated. Have a good one all.

Maybe your right foot got heavier and is using more open throttle. That will decrease the mileage. Plus if you are letting it warm up more with the weather, that will suck up some fuel. There are a lot of different factors.

Reset the ECU and let it re-learn the way you drive. Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, make sure nothing electrical still works, then reconnect it.

I am on board with the gas pedal idea. My truck would do much better if I kept my foot out of it. BTW, do they use oxygenated fuel in the eastern US? That could cause it...

Yes they definitely use the extra O2 in the gas. It brings down the mileage a little, but not to much.
