I own a 2004 Murano SL. I am considering buying a portable GPS unit for the dashboard, but have heard that some windishields have a coating that will block GPS signals, forcing you to use an external antenna.
Does anyone know if the Murano has such a coating on the windshield? I haven't been able to find any info on Nissan's site.
Well, for anyone else interested, I'm going to answer my own question. I was able to borrow a friends Garmin GPS and confirmed that there is no problem using these portable units in the Murano. So, for anyone who did not pay for the built-in (and ridiculously overpriced) factory navigation system, you can still go with a portable dash-mount unit with no external antenna.

Glad to know, I'll put my Garman in the glove box ready to use.
