Evaporator canister filter changeable on an 89 Nissan Hardbody Z24 engine?
Anyone know if the carbon filter in the Evaporator canister is changeable on an 89 Nissan Hardbody Z24 engine? I have three different manuals telling me that there is a filter you just pull out of the bottom and replace periodically. Yet when I take the canister out of its holder, all I find is a small plastic attachment in the middle of the bottom of the canister where a thick rubber hose connects to it. The unit looks sealed, like there is no way to get the bottom off to reach the filter. Could the repair manuals have omitted some engines having a newer style Canister that does not have a replaceable filter? Anyone else have experience with their Evaporator canister? I am afraid of breaking the plastic attachment trying to take it off if it is not supposed to come off of the bottom.....
