'98 Quest coolant change questions

My '98 Quest GXE has 95k miles, and I need to change belts, hoses, and coolant, etc.. The pro manual set at the library says that there is not only a block vent that needs to be opened during coolant refill, but something on the intake that has to be unplugged and connected to the reservior with a hose. The instructions don't seem to correspond to anything I can find on my intake that might be operated in this manner. Does anybody know how this is supposed to be done?
