If you are talking key fob, you can do it yourself.
I have a feeling that you are talking actual "KEY" though. If that is the case, you do have a couple of options. You can take it to the dealer and they can rip you off for that amount. Or, call the larger local locksmiths in your area. Many of them now have the equipment to program these keys. I am a Locksmith in Salt Lake City and the company that I work for has made this investement. When you call them, ask if they have the ability to program a transponder key for you '02 Pathy, and how much. Make sure that you tell them that you already have the key and only require programming. We are cheaper than the dealer here and we do tons of them. I have programmed my own Maxima, Pathfinder and now my Titan, as well as my brother-in-laws Altima, not to mention several others. You should be able to find at least one who is cheaper than the stealer. Just remember to take all of your existing keys with you when you have it done, no matter where you have it done. When you access the computer to program new keys, it automatically deletes the old keys and they must be reprogrammed!!!
Sorry to be so long winded, but I hope this helps!

Yes, I am a Nissan Addict!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
Should only be 1/2 to 3/4 hour of labour at the dealer. I bought my keys online and they charged me the labour. If I had bought the keys from them they said they would not have charged the labour. But $77 CDN each at dealer $40 for two online. Hmmmmmm. tough choice.....
