This winter the park brake light on my 92 Pathfinder started staying on after disengaging the brake. It's an automatic with a center console park brake lever. The light started to come on around corners going one way and go off going the other way. Now it's pretty much steady.
I'm sure it's a short somewhere - maybe even near the switch at the lever. Haven't had time (nor warm weather) to chase it down, but I thought I'd throw the question out there to see if anyone had had a similar problem and what you found...
If the Path is like other Nissan cars, the brake light is for both the parking brake and the brake master cylinder reservoir. Your vehicle probably needs brake fluid added.

Oooohh?!?!?! Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check that. I haven't noticed a brake fluid leak anywhere, and the brakes still work fine, but I'll definitely have a look.
So I checked the brake fluid reservoir and ... you all called it ... low. So I topped 'er off and... good news - - light's off!!! Bad news - - I now have a slow brake fluid leak I have to chase down.
I am assuming that since the brake system is a closed system, the only way to lose fluid is physically through the brake lines, fittings or callipers. I'll also have to check to see the wear on the pads, but they're relatively new and I doubt that there thin enough to cause the amount of calliper piston travel needed to lower the fluid level that much. Either way, I'll have to do a little hunting when things get a little nicer out. Obviously, I don't want to wait too long, but I'm hoping the leak will stay slow.
