i have a nissan frontier 2000 xe king cab 2wd, just wondering would a 3 inch body lift be enough to clear 31x10R15 tires

Yes. You can put 31's on it stock and they'll fit, but you might have to tweak up the torsion bars a bit in front to keep them from rubbing.
