I was just wondering if anyone knows if the 5spd tranny out of my 89 4cyl hardbody can be replaced with a 5spd out of a 240sx with no serious fabricating problems/issues. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I had a friend do this swap and he told me all he did was get longer starter bolts, get the driveshaft cut about 5 inchs (U will have to measure to be sure) and will need to cut the cab a little because the shifter does not fit in the same place as well. Thats about it...
If you have a KA24E, I think it should fit no problems so long as you get it from a 240 with the E (single cam) engine. The biggest difference between the 2 is the gear ratios, IIRC.

Actually my truck has the Z24 engine. Will this create a problem?
