Hi,
Does anyone here own the Chilton 89-95 pathfinder & pickup guide? Amazon reviewer opinions jump from steller to miserable. I am thinking of buying this book, but would like to hear some of your opinions. I need to do some wiring troubleshooting so I thought this guide would be of service. Thanks!
I have both the Chilton and the Hayes manuals and I find the Chilton to have more information.Overall I think its a great book and have foudn it VERY useful thus far(since xmas). Just a heads up on that.
I have the Chilton's manual, it works but it's no factory service manual. Not by a long shot.

Well, I have the Chilton's guide for Datsun/Nissan Pickups and Pathfinders 1970-1989, talk about a guide that covers too many years, this one takes the cake! Though it doesn't always help, sometimes I'll find a piece of information in it that makes it worth the money I paid for it (years ago).
I just bought a Haynes manual for my 89 pickup, and it isn't really much better (though it does have wiring diagrams my old Chilton doesn't), just hoping it might have some other missing information my old Chilton's guide doesn't. But thanks for letting me know about the 89-95 Chilton's manual. Now I am going to have to get that one too so I can complete my collection!
Hopefully it might have more info for my 89 truck than my Chilton's guide since the years start with '89 instead of ending with '89 (plus it's got a hundred more pages than my thick guide and covers 1/3 the truck years my guide does!). My 1970-1989 guide short-changed me since my truck was the last version for the book, most of the '89 info was unavailable, I kept reading "info not available for the 1989 model, use similar models as a guide'...UUGGGHHHH!
The best manual to have is a factory service manual. It has EVERYTHING in it, and it just applies to ONE year and type of vehicle. You can score one on Ebay if you look hard enough.

OK, I just bought this book tonight at O'reilly Auto for 17.99. So far I am much impressed over the old Chilton book I have(much more information seems to be included, but it was just at first glance).Anything you want me to look up?
Well, I just purchased the Chilton guide. I am working on an electrical issue, Hopefully it will help me figure out my current problem and aid me in the future as well. Those factory service manuals are $$$$!!! I am really no mechanic by any stretch of the term so I hope this guide will serve me well with simple problems. This forum though has helped me quite a bit! Thank you all so much for your input on this thread.

How much are those factory service manuals and where do you get them?
I did a general search on google and found a couple that were anywhere between $100 to over $300. For some reason though now I can't find any. A guy on ebay is selling them on cd rom. I wonder if it is worth it? Sounds pretty good. Check feedback though...
