97 Path. Auto Trans Safety Shift Lock

With the trans in Park, everytime the brake pedal is pressed there is a click that sounds like a relay coming from the shift console.
Occurs only in Park.
Should I be concerned?

Thanks in Advance!

I'm VERY new to Nissan, so this may be of no help, but...

On my '90 Geo Tracker, the shifter was locked in Park unless the ignition key was in the On position AND the brake pedal was depressed. When both of those conditions were true, a solenoid in the console would activate (and click) releasing the lock on the shifter. There was also a little bar with a handle on the end (about 3/4 the size of a dime) that you could pull to manually release the lock. Maybe that's what's happening in your case.

I would think that your noise is normal. I hear the same thing in both of my Q's. The truck is a manual transmission so that wouldn't apply.
