I have a 95 Nissan Pathfinder, and I have owned it for two years with almost no problems. Today out of the blue my door locks started locking almost as soon as I would unlock them. This happened whether I used the keyless entry remote, or whether I used the button on the door control panel. It has the Viper security system, so I tried shutting that off to see if that was causing it, but it didn't help. As soon as I unlock it, a second later it locks itself, no matter how many times I unlock it. I should add the only other quirky thing about the car is that the light on the temperature portion of the control panel only works intermittently. That has been that way since I purchased the vehicle. Any ideas what the problem with the locks could be, before I go flushing money down the toilet at the dealership?

I don't have much knowledge of electrical or electronics, but could it be the relay... have you checked that? Instead of going to the dealer, I'd go place that installs car alarms, I'm sure they can figure it out at a much cheaper rate if you're still stumped.

The lock actuator is sticking on the driver's side door. It either needs to be replaced or opened up and lubed/messed with.
