Mud Flaps for an '04 Frontier

What's everyone using?

The only thing I've ever had mud flaps on was a minivan and they worked great there for keeping road muck off of the rear window.

That shouldn't be a problems with the truck, but since I'm not going off-road with this thing I thought they might help keep tar and other junk off the sides and I like the way they look.

Anyone know of any downsides to mud-flaps? I was thinking it'd keep all of the road muck in the wheel area which may promote rust or damage to brake/suspension components. Is that a silly thought?

Thumbs up

I don't know what is currently available but for my '98 Frontier XE KC 2WD I bought the factory aftermarket molded mud flaps and wheel well trim pieces. The kit included wheel well extenders/edges and mud flaps for all 4 wheels that blend into the body and bumper trim. They really changed the look of the stock body panels and wheel wells. I got them from the dealer parts store. I don't remember what they cost but it was a lot more than $11 each. I installed them myself (couple of hours). You might check and see if this kind of dressup kit still is offered. They do keep road tar from getting on the body.

Thanks for the feedback.

I like the look of the trucks I've seen them on and it sounds like there's no downside.

I think I'll run by the dealership and see if they have them; $11 would be great

If they don't carry them for the '04 anymore, I guess I'll try to get the best fit aftermarket ones I could find (that's the type I used on my van and they fit really well).
