G'day, I hope some one can help. I have a 89 nissan Nomad 8 seater van with the above mentioned engine. I need spec's on renewing head gasket. eg head stud removal/replace procedure, torque settings ...... Am unable to find a manual on this engine except from nissan dealership at a price that made my wallet SCREAM in protest(over 200$au). I asked at dealership spare parts dept if they could give me a photo copy of the specs but was told not allowed. Have searched on internet to no avail. I hope someone will be able to help me out with this please as it is our only means of transport.
I have a nissan manual.... wish I had a scanner! Hmmmm.... did you try the service dept? they usually have the repair manuals, maybe they would copy a page or 2 for you, here is a little, not sure what you need or want.
when tightening the head, work from the center out..
tighten all head bolts to 3.0kg-m, then tighten to 8.0kg-m, then it says loosen all bolts completely, tighten to 3.0kg-m then to 7.5 - 8.5 kg-m,

I've got the same vehicle, in fact I might have brought your's. He was a mike too, been looking for the same manual, the engine appears to have been used in the same era pathfinders as well so the gregorys manual would work for the engine mechanics, around $55 in the shops.
I'd attempt to help but they stopped using that engine in 87 on the US models.
