i don't know about that button. but the hardbody name has been around for awhile. has something to do with the way the frame, the cab, and the bed are made.
my dad had a 1986.5 nissan p/u and it was called a hardbody. that truck survived until late last year. my dad sold it after 200,000 miles of trouble free operation. took a crack head 5 years to kill it.
I have had alot of people tell me it is not uncommon to get 300,000 miles out of a Nissan. By the looks of some of the threads on here it looks like many are in the 200,000+ Well is my truck considered a hardbody?
I believe you are refering to the recycle mode of your A/C? Instead of pulling outside air it recycles the air that has allready been conditioned within the truck.
About the hardbody question, I wonder my self ... I have an 03 Crew cab
I believe the Hardy Body designation refers to the 1986.5 thru 1995 productions years. The 1996 and newer models (or 1998, Im not sure) are simply referred to as Frontier body style once the model was given that name by the the Factory. The Pathfinders went their separate way from the trucks (Frontier) and have the R50 chassis code and the Frontier chassis line picked up the new Xterra SUV to share parts with from 2000 and onward.
