Hello, my wife and I just purchased the 05 Pathfinder SE with most options including DVD (I really didn't want it). Overall it is a well balanced (money vs. value), well thought vehicle. The only thing bothered me was that the dealer has obviously loaned it to someone as it already had 500 miles on it, and the radiator has many small rocks - evidence of mountain highway driving. Someone has broken her in

I geuss I have to suck it up.
Anyway, I don't know if this has related at all, but when I floor it, it makes a consistent saddle tick noise, sounds as if the lift valve is making an "extra" noise only when I floor it. It doesn't matter if the car is well warmed up or cold. Is that normal, and if so, what it this noise? Variable valve mechanism shouldn't make noticable sound like that?
I'm probably just a paranoid, but her previous car (Suzuki) developed a saddle clunking noise after 10,000 miles and it never went away (regardless of the throttle positions or temps). It went through two 15K maintenance cycles that way, so we assumed it was just a normal sound for Suzuki (rather cheaply built, I must say). That's why I'm a bit concerned with this noise. Does anyone know? Thanks for your help in advance!
