I want to do a slight raise in the torsion bars (1/2"-3/4" actual lift) on my new truck to get rid of the rake when looking at it and to firm up the front suspension. I thought I remembered you having a link on how to do that on the nissan trucks but I can't find it. You'll still got those instructions?

It's very simple. Get underneath. Look up at the tranny crossmember where the ends of the torsion bars are located. Loosen the locknut on top of the adjuster on each side, then tighten the adjuster bolt from the bottom about two or three full turns on each side. Re-tighten the locknuts. That should give you 1/2" to 3/4" of lift. Drive it around for a little bit before checking ride height, the bars will settle a little bit after you readjust them.

do I need to jack up the truck a little to adjust the torsion bars? or can i just crank em with the truck on the ground?

If it were me, I would jack it up so at the very least it would take pressure off the torsion bars so they would be easier to raise. The number one key in doing this is make sure you drive it around for a mile or 2 after adjusting and before measuring just like 88 said. Doing this will allow the suspension to settle in it's new location so you can check and adjust again if necessary.

Jackin isn't necessary, but it may help. I counted turns on mine as I went down. Several days later i readjusted to level ride height. Be sure to take it to an alignment shop when you are done as I am sure the camber will need adjusted.

do you really think the alignment would be off after only a 1/2" to 3/4 raise?

I am a little liberal with my alignments as my father in law runs a shop. I get em free! 3/4 inch will make a difference. It's up to you to determine whether your tires are worth risking. You might get away with keeping an eye out for feathering and inconsistent wear and saving the 50 bucks.

It won't make that much difference but a fresh alignment is suggested, yes.
